Reports & analytics

Choose the report that matches the operational question before changing its branch and date scope.

1. Use Analytics › Sales for revenue, refunds, discounts, demand, categories, and payment mix.
2. Use Analytics › Branches to compare receipts, net sales, gross profit, and average basket.
3. Use Analytics › COGS for product costs, supplier unit cost, margin, and shrink.
4. Use Analytics › Customers for anonymous new, returning, segment, retention, and age-band trends.
5. Use Analytics › Inventory for sales velocity, stock cover, valuation, expiry exposure, and margin at risk.
6. Use Analytics › Strains for demand and margin by genetics, potency, effect, terpene, and pack size.
7. Use Analytics › Staff for role-scoped margin, average basket, and employee scorecards.

Analytics includes Sales, Branches, COGS, Customers, Inventory, Strains, and Staff.

1. Open Analytics; PorThorOS starts on Sales.
2. Choose the required report from Analytics reports.
3. Set Analytics branch to the correct scope.
4. Open Analytics date range, choose the period, then choose Apply.
5. Review the metrics and supporting panel for the same scope.

Start with the overall sales pattern, then compare branch scorecards for the same period.

1. Open Analytics › Sales and set Analytics branch and date range.
2. Review net sales and gross profit trend, then check the demand heatmap.
3. Compare category sales and payment mix for the same scope.
4. Open Branches without changing the date range.
5. Compare receipts, net sales, gross profit, and average basket.

Use COGS to find margin or shrink pressure, then Inventory to identify the stock causing it.

1. Open Analytics › COGS and set the branch and date range.
2. Review cost and profit over time, category COGS, supplier unit cost, product costs, and shrink.
3. Open Inventory with the same filters.
4. Review stock cover, valuation, expiry exposure, margin at risk, and priority actions.
5. Open Inventory › History before posting a correction.

These reports support operational decisions without exposing customer identity beyond the signed-in role.

1. Use Customers for aggregate visits, segments, retention, age bands, and lifecycle.
2. Use Strains to compare anonymous demand and margin signals.
3. Use Staff to review margin, average basket, and scorecards for the permitted branch.
4. Change branch or date range only when making a like-for-like comparison.

Report navigation follows the signed-in role and branch scope.

1. Confirm the employee role in Settings › Employees.
2. Review its permissions in Settings › Access.
3. Confirm the employee is assigned to the intended branch.
4. Sign in again and reopen Analytics.

PorThorOS hides stale analytics when a filter request fails.

1. Keep the current branch and date range selected.
2. Restore the connection.
3. Choose Retry.
4. Confirm the report title and filters before reading the numbers.
